Do you know anything about vedic philosophy? I know just a little, but I think their cosmology is very advanced, and some of what they say matches modern physics.
In vedic thought, sound corresponds with the element of ether. It is the only perception that has its basis beyond the physical. Earth is smell, Water is taste, Fire is sight, and Air is touch. All for of these are within the physical only. But sound occurs when things in the physical vibrate against the background of the ether. Or something like that.
There are also corresponding tones for each planet in Vedic astrology, I believe. I would be interested to know if you've studied any eastern philosophies in your exploration of sound and physics.
